Mr. Clarke has an ‘e’ at the end of his name which is silent. The history to that comes from the time in the 1800s when the English occupied Ireland and oppressed the Irish very badly. Many Irish died at that time during the Irish Potato famine. So the Irish people wanted to set themselves apart, even with their names. The term comes from the Latin word “clericus” meaning someone who is well educated or may be a teacher.
Mr. Clarke is married and has two children, one in college and one in high school
