Salam School 2017/2018 Enrollment

Current Students:

Who: All current students must re-apply every year. In addition to the school application, Choice students must re-apply online at Parents needing assistance in applying online may contact the office for computer lab hours.

When: March 1st – March 3rd (9am – 2pm)

Where: Salam Middle High School Activity Room (4707 S. 13th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53221)

What: Completed school application, $35 application fee per student (cash/check), utility bill dated within 60 days (only for Choice students)

New Students:

Who: Any child from K4 (must turn 4 years old by 9/1/17) through 11th grade.

When: Three enrollment periods. Last day to apply for enrollment is May 19th, 2017. All new applicants must submit completed application within enrollment period and take placement exam during the enrollment period in which they applied.

1st Enrollment Period: March 6th – March 20th (9am – 1pm daily)

• K5 – 6th Grade Placement exam: March 27th, 2017
• 7th – 11th Grade Placement exam: March 28th, 2017

2nd Enrollment Period: April 3rd – April 13th (9am – 1pm daily)

• K5 – 6th Grade Placement exam: April 24th, 2017
• 7th – 11th Grade Placement exam: April 25th, 2017

3rd Enrollment Period: May 2nd – May 19th (9am – 1pm daily)

• K5 – 6th Grade Placement exam: May 22nd, 2017
• 7th – 11th Grade Placement exam: May 23rd, 2017

What: Completed school application, birth certificate, immunization record, most recent report card (not needed for K4 or K5), $35 application fee per student (cash/check)

New students apply for the Choice program only after receiving an acceptance letter (within 30 days of applying). Choice program requires a 2016 tax return and most recent utility bill. Last day to apply for Choice will be first week of September 2017.

Here are the Salam Schools announcements for the week of March 20th, 2017

The first announcement is, any current Salam School students who have NOT submitted the green school application for the 2017/2018 school year must do so immediately in the Main office to reserve your seat for next year. Choice families must also apply for Choice online (letters have been mailed with login information), the last day to enroll in March will be Monday, March 20th. If you do not apply online by March 20th, the Choice program will reopen online on April 1st until April 20th. All Choice families must also submit a utility billed dates within the last 60 days to the Main office.

The second announcement is  Tuesday,  March 21st will be the HS Basketball Award Ceremony. Athletes and their parents are invited to this prestigious event which will begin at 6pm in the Salam School Center Hall.  

The third announcement is,  this Wednesday, March 22nd, is an out of uniform day. Students may come out of uniform for $2 each student. They may wear nice clean jeans if they choose. No skinny jeans or skinny pants are permitted. Girls shirts must be knee length. All students must be dressed islamically appropriate. .  

The last announcement is, the last day for Salam Elementary School students to register for the Mad Science Camp is Monday, March 20th. Registration forms and payment can be submitted online or at the Elementary School Office.

New Choice Program
Salam School has applied to participate in the Wisconsin Choice Program.
This program is for students not residing in Milwaukee or Racine areas. It is
similar to the Milwaukee ChoiceProgram with regard to income limits. Parents
interested in applying must do so online beginning August 1, 2013 and lasting
to August 9th, 2013. Once you have applied, you will need to bring in to the
school main office your 2012 taxes as well as a recent utility bill. Applying
is not a guarantee that you will gain admission to the program. There are only
500seats open to students statewide.
